Because I consider Saurabh a friend, I was gonna hold out on discussing Heinrich Boll, but since you asked - and since it seems that everyone else is keeping silent, I will elaborate. I have attended three or four tournaments a Ga. Tech over the last year or so, and I've been impressed by them all (hence I keep going back). However, Heinrich Boll was pretty awful. I don't know WHY Saurabh was an hour late getting there or why we had to wait two hours between the modified round robin and the bracketed playoffs. However, I'm confident there was a good reason. Saurabh seemed really distracted and commented to me that he had not slept in 38 hours. I don't know if that was a hyperbole or not. Anyway, because of the lateness of starting and the ridiculously long time between initial round robin and playoff brackets, we had to do "tossups only" in the playoff brackets. I also noticed that in the final three rounds, the question categories were not distributed throughout the round. The first 4 were science, then there were 4 literature questions followed by four history questions and so on... I know that Saurabh is a great tournament director and he just had a bad day (there were no stats posted, either). I do feel that it was an error in judgement to have the Ga. Tech team compete. Stephen Webb is also a good TD as evidenced in this summer's NATSSO tournament. I think Saurabh could seriously have used his help. Despite my rantings, I still have the utmost faith in Ga. Tech tournaments, they are usually great. If this had been my first Tech tournament, I probably would not go back. However, I realize that everyone has a bad day and I will return to Tech as often as I can. Now on to the actual results: After a very brief round robin, the upper playoff bracket consisted of: Kentucky A - Kelly solo Kentucky B - Seth et al. Kentucky C Kentucky D - Robert et al. Athens State Berry College I believe that Kelly won, followed by the other Kentucky teams. Athens State defeated Berry for the Div. II title. I really couldn't tell you about the lower bracket results, but Saurabh says that he will have it all posted soon.
