I think part of the problem with the power matching was that the process
wasn't transparent. It was obvious that Michigan (13-0) and Rochester (12-1)
had qualified for the single-elims, but then there were three 10-2 teams. Since
there was some confusion over whether or not there would be a semifinal
round at all, and then a scramble to start the matches before it got ridiculously
late, the criteria for picking among the 2-loss teams was not clear to me, at
least.
Quick results:
After round robin, three undefeated teams, Rochester A, Michigan A, and
Chicago A.
After power matching:
Michigan undefeated
Rochester one loss
Yale A, Yale B, Maryland two losses
all other teams three or more losses
Maryland eliminated for whatever reason, as we proceeded to the single
elims.

Finals:
#3 Yale A def #1 Michigan A
