Would not it be easier just to do a double round robin in Division I? You would avoid two sets of delays in figuring out which team is which seed. Since Division II's competition is 13 rounds, it is probably not that big a deal for the Division II teams to watch for one round. 3. N/A 2. Teams dropping out at the last minute is one of the hassles that comes with being a tournment director. In my opinion, teams just flat not showing up is much worse than cancelling a day or two beforehand. With the latter, you have time to print new schedules and conceive new formats. With the former, you have to do it on the fly and that might translate to delays on the day of the tournament. 1. Besides being virtually unenforceable, cancellation fees only serve to alienate people. With the ease at which people can drop quizbowl and do something else, that alienation is unwanted and unhealthy for the circuit. Dan
