Referring to the bids that went out a few hours ago: The only part that really gets me confused is why only 40 Div I bids are going out this year when there were, I believe, 48 in previous years. It's nice that now 20 Div II teams make it with the new eligibility requirements, but that's still only 60 teams. Dang it, the only way we're gonna be able to get into these ICT's anymore is as a sectionals host. I think my Pitt team is in the same position as JHU in that we're a little jealous of other teams with stats not quite as gaudy as ours getting in for whatever reason. Regardless of the small size of the regional we played in as well as our playing half our games against Division II teams, our bonus conversion average was a fairly decent 16.7, which I suppose is a good measure of "quiz-ability" without factoring in strength of schedule. I had us figured right around 35th in the country so I optimistically predicted to my friends that I'd be going to Boston. Imagine my surprise this morning... Oh well, time for the waitlist now.
