Steve is correct - thanks for making that clear. I'm searching my post for places where I said "you may not debate this topic." I seem to find none. I am still boggled by the inability to comprehend the message of my post. I never intended to nor will I ever claim that someone does not have the right to speak their mind...however...it seems that to keep beating one's head against the wall is not going to heal any wounds. I take more issue with 1) the posture of the post and its disrespect for competing viewpoints and 2) the post's lack of accountability in terms of supposedly not wishing to resurrect debate while quite vehemently calling into question the nature and character of those directly involved in the situation - that seems like contradiction. If you want to bring the debate back out just say so and don't call it something it isn't. If I am indeed incorrect and you do not wish to spark debate any further then why keep bringing it up? Oh wait, let's be clear, I didn't say "don't bring it up" I merely asked "why?" Assuming now that this topic should be debated further what is there left to discuss? If I'm missing something or if perhaps there is a compelling argument why it needs to be talked about more I'll gracefully shut my mouth. If you want to draw out the lines and get people angry then just say so, don't call it something else. --- In quizbowl_at_yahoogroups.com, berkeleykaplan <no_reply_at_y...> wrote: > Hairboy's post seems to assume that Ross is involved in some way with UCLA College Bowl. That is not true. I don't officially speak for the UCLA club, of which I am a member, but I can assure you that Ross who is not a member certainly does not speak for the UCLA club. > > Steve Kaplan > Also a former Berkeley Quiz Bowl president, but a member of UCLA now. > > --- In quizbowl_at_yahoogroups.com, "Michael Angelo Sorice" <msorice_at_u...> wrote: > > > Or perhaps you could arrange a Illinois/UCLA match with the Sudheer, > > > Sorice and Andrew on the Illinois team. > > I was going to stay out of this (this time around) as my views on the > > matter have been well-known for some time but, on behalf of my > > teammates and myself, I feel compelled to remind you not to kid > > yourself.
