The Science Monstrosity mirror took place yesterday evening in Cobb Hall after the completion of the Chicago Open. The five teams that entered were: 1. Mike Sorice/Andrew Ullsperger 2. Dan Suzman/Frank Kelly 3. Chris Romero/Susan Mitchell 4. Raj Dhuwalia/Wesley Mathews 5. Seth Teitler/Trey Morris 6. A guy from Texas A&M whose last name is Kwartler (my apologies, I don't think I ever caught your first name) A five-game round-robin was played, after which three teams (Sorice/Ullsperger, Suzman/Kelly, and Teitler/Morris) had one loss apiece, resulting in a triangle of death with no head-to-head solution for seeding. In addition, it was about 11 pm by this point (resulting in massive fatigue) and two of the teams had submitted packets, leaving us with only two blind packets left to use. So, the staff and teams mutually decided to play out a three-team finals match on the two remaining packets (40/40). Sorice/Ullsperger played quite well at the beginning of the match, but eventually Seth went on a tear of six or seven consecutive tossups, handing Teitler/Morris the win and the championship by a sizable margin. Congratulations to Seth and Trey, and thanks to everyone who participated and those who helped me staff, including Matt Weiner, Dave Kiang, Chris Borglum, and Adam Bonk. I'm not sure if Jerry's going to put the questions online or whatnot, but if you'd like a copy of them, e-mail me at potru [at] uiuc [dot] edu. Thanks, --Sudheer
