The UGA CBAT is pround to annoucement the second edition of its famous Tournament by the Sea II: This Time it's not Tournament by the Sea I, to be held Sunday March 13, 2005, at the Jekyll Island Convention Center on Jekyll Island, GA. So far, the only teams in are UGA and Florida, the top two teams from last year. We have room for seven (7) teams giving us a cap of nine teams for a regular round robin. The following are the fees and discounts for the tournament: Base Fee: $110 Second Team: +$60 Buzzer: -$5 Packet in before January 31, 2004: -$15 Packet in b/w February 1 and February 5: -$10 Packet in b/w February 6 and February 12: -$5 Packet in b/w February 13 and February 20: No Discount Packet in b/w February 21 and March 4: +$15 No packet will be accepted after 12:00:00 March 5 unless prior arrangements have been made. All deadlines are as of 11:59:59pm. For packet guidelines, we will be asking for only 22 TUs and Boni. Also, we would be adhereing to the packet content guidelines used by Charlie at UTC, seeing how most of you on this list are used to them. The parameters in parenthesis (try saying THAT three times fast) are for both TUs and boni. 2 - 4 Movies (half pre-1960, half post 1960) 2 - 4 TV (half pre 1975, half post 1975) 2 - 4 Sports (one sport per question) 2 - 4 Music (one music style per question) 2 - 3 Trashy "literature" (no more than 1 Sci-Fi related) 2 - 3 Trashy current events No more than 2 each: Computer games & other computer stuff Comics Junk food Potent potables Gadgets Other trashy merchandise (e.g., the Metamucil tossup) Board games, children's games, etc. This tournament will also have some unique features. While the "lame and claim" will be there, "style points" will be making its return as well as the newest feature this year- the Mulligan (more info on that later). This year, we will also be introducing the "Hot Potato" halftime. The official hotel this year is the Jekyll Holiday Inn, located a bit farther south than last year's, The Days Inn.
