First off...I wish to apologize for my lack of availability the last few days. My neighborhood has been having problems with its high- speed Internet service, and I am hopeful to be back online by tonight. In the meantime, I am posting these messages on an outside computer. A few weeks ago, I was contacted by an official with ACF about having TRASH Regionals and ACF Fall taking place on the same weekend. I didn't have a problem with that -- TRASH Regionals has had problems finding hosts in some regions, and we've had success in pairing with academic tourneys in the past. However, I did NOT agree with a statement posted by said ACF official on this message board on Tuesday morning. Testing Recall About Strange Happenings NEVER GAVE ITS BLESSING to ACF's insistence that host schools must host both tournaments, and those who can't must withdraw. What TRASH DID agree to was... Host schools can have the option of hosting either tournament. If they want to host TRASH but not ACF, fine. If vice versa, fine too. If a host school wants to host both events, the school has the option of deciding which tournament runs on which day. So here's the 411. If you want to host a TRASH Regional the weekend of November 11-13, 2005, e-mail me at jdinan_at_... . If you want to pair the tourney with ACF Fall, another academic tournament, a Moe Howard look-a-like contest, etc., go right ahead. It's your option. But if you want to host TRASH Regionals as a stand-alone event, you can do that as well. It's your option. I am also pleased to announce that the following schools will be hosting TRASH Regional events this fall... Boston U. will return as host of the TRASH NE Regional! WUSTL will again host the TRASH Midwest Regional! More in the coming weeks. James Dinan Business Manager, TRASH jdinan_at_...
