I'm trying to allieviate some morning boredom and give you all an opportunity to learn something as well, so I'm doing a rare entries contest this week. I'll give the winner next Thursday. For those of you who don't know how it works: I ask a bunch of questions that have a finite number of correct answers. Your entry is a correct answer to each of those questions. The entries are then scored at the end of the contest. Each answer is assigned a value equal to the number of people who gave it as a correct answer. The answers are then _multiplied_ together to give a final score for the entry. A perfect score is 1. The winner is the person with the lowest score--the one with the rarest entries. For this contest, WRONG answers will be assigned one point greater than the maximum for that question--so make sure you give a valid answer. The questions will be in the tradition of academic competition. Here's the first week's contest: Name... 1. A war that ended with a Treaty of Paris. 2. A play written between 1600-1610 3. A Roman Emperor who served more than ten years. 4. An SI unit. 5. An African Capital City 6. A feature film directed by Orson Welles. 7. A metal. (element) Please send all entries to yorick_at_...
