In response to Jason Keller's request that someone "please post something else," this was the first quiz discussion topic that came to mind. I notice that this year's Montgomery Burns trash tournament (see Mike Burger's posts and web site) will use power-marked tossups but will also use guerrilla editing. That is, it appears that people will edit their own packs and bring hard copies to the tournament. With that form of editing, I expect noticeable differences in how -- and how effectively -- writers place their power marks. Rather than express an opinion on the correct way to power-mark a tossup (if anyone from NAQT were to make a public pronouncement on that, it would come most logically from Eric Hillemann), I'll just ask how people feel about the packs and tournaments that have done it. (I suppose that would apply to both NAQT, which originated the power mark, and the independent circuit. Criticisms of particular mark placements seem to have been more common in critiques of earlier NAQT events than they were in critiques of this past year's events.) Just speaking for myself, throwing out food for thought, and reminding people not to feed the trolls, =) Matt
