<speaking only for myself, not for my employers, my future employers, or my team.> I think the great advantage of the power mark at an event like this (Mike also requires Power Marks for the Ann B. Davis) is that you know the exact person to beat up when you don't like their packet. So in a way, it keeps you honest. (This goes for content as well, which would have me get on my soapbox for a moment and remind people that just because you like something doesn't mean it will make for a good trash question, especially in a one-on-one setting. As Mike asked, make your bonuses fair, and if you are questioning it, err on the side of ease. We can have slo-pitch softball scores here if need be, it's preferable to Trash pitching duals.) But the power marking, in my case is "If I heard this question, what is the first actual fact that someone could get this on?" and then place it just slightly after that. The exception is a list of names, and then I give it four or so, because you need to allow time for a player to pick up on a theme. It's an art rather than a science, most people who have written questions will tell you that, but an honest packet, a fair packet, will rarely have people lining up to whoop you one. I don't know if that makes any sense, but ahhh, what the heck. Looking forward to the Fully Monty. CDB
