Hmmm... (yes, it's old, but I'm bored and haven't
been around in a dog's age) Aquisgranum for Aachen is
really, really bloody obscure; I did some fairly hardcore
reading on Carolingian coronation rituals for my exam and
that never came up (funnily enough, neither did the
coronations... ;)
However, the Donation of Constantine
isn't *that* obscure. If you've even taken a "History
of Christianity" survey class, that'll come up. It's
actually pivotal to quite a lot of medieval
socio-political theory and political
history.
