last year's NAQT Nationals, in Boston
We're
playing Rutgers, leading like 180-170, with the final
tossup coming up.
"This, the fourth-longest river
in Europe"
<buzz>
[oh shit shit shit
which one is it?] - runs through my mind, and as river
lengths in kilometers sorta flow through my brain, I go
"Volga" and sit there and stare off into space as the
questions procedes to give Kiev as a town it (of course the
Dnieper) flows through. Rutgers gets it; just to push me
further to the brink of madness or violence, their bonus
is about the Cossacks. They get two, we lose the
game, and I feel a MAJOR urge to just go outside and
walk around the ghetto parts of Boston until the first
bored kid decides to try out his new sniper rifle on
that lonely white nerdboy over there by the
streetlight ^^
It's not really *that* bad in of
itself, but *is* considering as how all of the apartments
I've lived in had probably more wall-space covered by
maps than by wallpaper.
