Well, from my understanding (I'm not a lawyer,
though) you don't have to explcitly mark your work as
copyrighted to have it *be* copyrighted. So just because
those questions aren't necessarily marked doesn't mean
the authors don't have rights.
As a suggestion
for the future, perhaps the Standford Archive should
begin requiring all new submissions to have a copyright
notice on them. It'd add only one line to a huge
document and could prove valuable if anyone chooses to
legally challenge Mr. Beall at a later
date.
However, it might be time for a real lawyer to weigh in on
this...
