Something strikes me about Andy's list all of a sudden, and it's something he would never have to deal with at a school as large and prestigious as Duke. The list includes only Division I teams from college, even some that have little to no presence in QB whatsoever. It would be nice to see some effort in including people like Chicago and Case Western that actually belong, but do not compete athletically in Div. I-A athletics as far as the NCAA is concerned. These people deserve far more recognition, actually, as they have a much smaller student base to draw from (believe me, this is a problem), as well as less name recognition in the cases of people like CWRU and even our team. On a personal note, it would have been nice to see DPU be even so much as a 16 seed (as even I don't believe we'd make it out ofthe first round, barring negging of catastrophic proportions from someone like UIUC or Michigan, which will never happen). Instead, we take a list of schools and use people like Valparaiso, Middle Tennessee State and Portland, none of whom really deserve to be there. If we had been really crafty, we would have looked at Jason Paik's list of tourney results and compiled a list of teams from there. Andy, I mean absolutely no disrespect and do admire your putting this together in the first place. Hell, I'll even play like I said in an earlier post I would. Still, if we do this next year, can we please change the format just a little so that some people get the recognition they deserve? Stan J. P.S. Another thing I just thought of is recruiting. There are high schoolers who look at this and might be interested to know if some of the smaller schools in their area had QB teams of some repute -- might help to even the playing field a little bit if they decided to go there and turned out to be ok players.
