Still, if we do this next year, can we please change the format just a little so that some people get the recognition they deserve?" ...sigh... If I ever do an FAQ for this voting idea, this will likely be Question Number One. Okay, okay, there's a reason this all came about, and in it is reflected the reason for non-D-I school exclusion. You see, I started this my freshmen year. That year, Andrew Yaphe was an active player, and had Mike Zarren, perhaps one of the top 10 undergrads in his own right, as support. They never lost. Literally. Not even one match. I'm not even sure they came close. This was frustrating for a lot of people (myself being the main one). Seeing as how nationals that year were probably going to be (and ended up being) the Yaphe Victory Tour, I wondered, "Is there a national they *can't* win?" Around this time, Championship Week was beginning. I put two and two together and realized it worked. I'm not sure which is more frightening: that there's a backstory to this, or that people care. Anyway, this is why the NCAA thing came about. Now, seeing as insanity never stopped me before, I *would* be willing in the future (or even this year) to see an "everyone else" tournament run. Heck, we might fill the NIT with 24 non-D-I teams*. And yes, I'd look into a showdown at the end. Anyway, if you or someone wants to organize that this year, I'd give it my full support, and believe me, next year both fields could flourish. As for the rigor of sticking to NCAA standards, well, it's March. Might as well capitalize on the season. Andy Goss
