<<Ugh. Well, the sociological phenomenon of the "creation science" movement is certainly a legitimate topic. But let's not ask about the system itself unless we're also putting in questions on the deep technical workings of alchemy, flat-earthism, epicycles, curing disease through bloodletting, and getting rich via the tooth fairy.>> Hi Matt. (Recent news item: BJU have relented and now allow interracial dating) There is some serious work being done on creation science. Those working on creation science raise questions which at the least deserve an honest rebuttal, not a mocking dismissal. There are also a variety of viewpoints with regard to the Earth's creation, ranging from hardcore evolutionists (such as yourself) to hardcore creationists (such as the would-be founder of BJU Quizbowl). Personally I am disinclined to believe any system which does not have God as the central mover in events. The details, to me, are not as relevant. Many coincidences, from the Earth's distance from the sun, to the composition of the atmosphere, to the bringing together of inert chemicals, etc., have occurred to allow Homo sapiens to walk this earth. Do a Yahoo search on creation science and you will find several pages which raise issues and questions and other pages which answer the issues and questions. Chick Publications are of course mocked in the atheist movement -- as I imagine all Christians, deists, theists and those who believe in a God or Gods of some sort are mocked in the atheist movement. I imagine there are jokes a-plenty about the late Madalyn Murray O'Hair and American Atheists, Inc., from the Christian community. Shawn Pickrell
