BJU/science,religion,creationism (part 1

Actually, on further reflection, I've
decided
that this post is probably not genuine. Not only
did
the poster not mention the intramural program, but
a
true BJ'ite would not be a Chick fan, though
they
might use his tracts--they would certainly be
familiar
with him. Further, the rhetoric (though
certainly
possible from some people at that institution) is
closer
to someone attempting to sound like a
rabid
fundamentalist then someone who would actually be a member of
ID
groups and the like. (And BJ'ers are actually
unlikely
to be involved in ID--they would consider it
too
close to "theistic evolution.") 

I
actually once
wrote a bonus on creationists but it was
cut. For
people who really want an understanding of
the field (at
least from a sociological aspect),
the book to read is
The Creationists by Ronald
Numbers (a history prof.
at Wisconsin-Madison). It's a
little outdated and
sometimes inaccurate, but on the
whole quite good.
