Correction, in Louisiana, the competition is broken in 4 divisions, not 5. The end winner does represent LA at PAC in Orlando. I was that A&M representative, to which you refer. I advertised our tournament as a qualifier to a national at Georgia Tech. The problem with working through state organizations is, at least in TX and LA, they do NOT want any attention paid to NAQT or others. Both of those organizations send reps to PAC and not QU. All attempts I have made in Texas to reach out to SHSU have been met defensively. I would suggest that a unified champion is no more possible than in college. Just as ACF, NAQT, CBI, and TRASH will live so will QU, PAC, PACE, NAQT, and the rest. Loyola became a secondary host in 1996 and has been ever sense. In order to attend that one, all that is required is any high placing at any decent sized tournament and the ridiculous entry fee. The fact the tournament is in Louisiana is in no way connected to the state organization. In my opinion for any high school team which does not know about Chip and his numerous initiatives, this is an indication of a failure on the part of the school or coach. That being said, I know your former coach. I am pretty sure that he is aware of Chip. Don't be too sad you missed QU. For the price of QU, you could probably attend NAQT and PACE and the questions and staff would be much better.
