That being said, I know your former coach. I am pretty sure that he is aware of Chip. Don't be too sad you missed QU. For the price of QU, you could probably attend NAQT and PACE and the questions and staff would be much better." By the way, although the disparaging remark about the QU staff may not be undeserved, I am actually a QU national staff member. I read for Chip for the first time last year and will be reading again at New Orleans and at Washington again this summer. It was my observations of those tourneys last year that led me to ask this question about high school nationals. There are obviously some inherent weaknesses in the QU format. They are definitely old school and are based in their old television format. The questions are relatively sound, however, and the format can be kind of interesting. High school formats tend to be a little odd anyway for those used to the TU and Boni/Bonera/Bonuses of college play. The issues of past indiscretions or whatever regarding QU are not anything I know enough about to be able to discuss in this forum, however. Bygones are bygones as far as I am concerned. However, I do believe in my naive, idealistic way that it is possible to unify. I see this fraction of the high school arena as being part of the reason why states won't allow teams to play out of state or be involved with NAQT or whatever other nonsense they bring down. There must be a way to bring it all to center. Could this be through corporate sponsorship? Could the all mighty dollar be the answer?
