Just want to throw a bone to these ACF thoughts...since we're a relatively new program (like the 3rd or 4th reincarnation of the Emory U. Academic Team in the past 15 years). Playing ACF questions my first year in college (_at_ GT's ACF regionals)...well, it just overwhelmed me. My first thought, unlike some of you, was 'Where could I find a bed?' so I could rest b/c I was suffering from the length of the questions. I seriously got headaches from playing those rounds. That was quite an initiation into ACF. I'm not close-minded b/c we practice with ACF questions from time-to-time. We, as a team, are sometimes just baffled from the length of questions and the difficulty they have. Last year's ACF Nationals questions left another bad taste in my mouth from practices we had with them. Nevertheless, Div. II for ACF would be quite helpful...since playing South Carolina, UK, Vanderbilt, and GT two years ago at full strength was not my idea of fun. The clues could made a tad bit easier b/c we lost two freshmen members of our team that day _at_ GT...no more practices for them ever again...for that reason, I like ACF lite. Anyways, I don't represent the Emory U. Academic Team at all. I probably didn't type all I wanted to...but my mind is kinda spinning...stupid sleep apnea.
