I admit it. I suffer from a small amount of
paranoia. But when documents like this are created, I have
to wonder.

Without listing specific rules
(and besides, you can probably guess which ones based
on allegations, accusations, personal stupidities,
etc.), I'd say about 10% of the rules that "NACutie" has
posted over the five updates pertain to me directly. I
suppose I could be flattered that I'm considered enough
of a menace to society that someone has to try and
give me subtle hints, but trust me on this one: you're
not helping. For one thing, if you have a problem
with someone, the best thing to do most of the time is
tell them directly (cf. #3 of this update: Mr. Weiner,
I'm lookin' at you here). Sure, it may start a
flamewar, but only if you're a jerk about it (please, Matt,
politics is taboo in the chatroom).

(Interlude: I'm
well aware I haven't BEEN in the chatroom all summer.
If he's changed since then, then so much the better;
but last I checked, Matt, you did have an annoying
habit of springing politics and religion [or, more to
the point, ANTI-religion] out of the darnedest
places.)

As for the rules I've been guilty of, #2 and #5 (and
possibly #4a) spring to mind, and that's just from this
update. However, I've handled each violation individually
and am at least trying (if not succeeding) to fix
things along those lines. That said, if there are any
other rules I've broken, it would be nice if I were
told directly. 

Quizbowl is an organization
built around facts, where vague clues tend to be seen
as something unknown; you are doing about as much
help by not being direct as you would be if you read a
packet of NAQT questions, but never read beyond the
power mark. Sure, those that catch on will get the
message, but the vast majority will wonder what you're
driving at, or at worst ignore it altogether.

please, NACutie, Follow your own Rule #7.
