These comments aren't directed at or to the ACF Fall tournament, 'cause I didn't go, just QB generally. ""1. NO PRONUNCIATION GUIDES AT ALL."" In my experience, if moderators just give best effort and keep rolling everything works out fine. If players have any idea what that Chinese book title was, they'll "translate" from moderator-garble and buzz in anyway. "FTPE, heart stuff." Hmmm, I know what the bonus will be about, I didn't have to endless lines of blather... this is exactly what lead-ins ought to be! (unless the question is tricky enough to require more seting up of course) I'd actually like to see more of these leadins, especially at packet-submission timed tournaments (that's PennBowl people) so we can get through more than 18 damn tossups a round. Anyone else a fan of/despise mimimized leadins? "Div II stuff" I absolutely agree. However, you've got to have enough teams sign up to have a DII. Maryland's DII division at the TIT had to be folded into the main bracket for lack of DII teams. It's a bit of a catch-22: if new/inexperienced teams hate losing to experienced players they won't come (to any tournament with mainly experienced teams?), but you can't fill a DII field without a big one-time influx of newish/inexperienced teams.
