I guess I'll weigh in on this....I'm certainly not interested in chasing anyone away from the circuit. But I will say I've had to develop a thick skin for certain types of remarks and jokes out there, and unfortunately, the real world will drive one crazy if one is too quick to take offense or find harm where none was intended. Was the original announcement in poor taste, particularly in light of past controversies on this board about race and QB? Yeah. I'd have thought twice about putting that up myself. Was it an expression of bigotry or hatred? I just don't see it. They used a text editor, and could have just as easily put it in Swedish chef talk as they did in "ebonics." (Or, as another player suggests, they could have just used pornolize.com. Well, maybe that'd produce something that would offend people too.) I've seen and heard a few things in my time that could be construed that way, and I'd hate to think we'd lose the ability to spot genuine bigotry or hatred because we confused it with a mere lapse in taste. And while it's one thing to question the taste and appropriateness of a tournament announcement presented in this fashion, it's quite another to imply or state that it constitutes an appeal to "Jim Crow" sentiments, or worse. -Tim
