Although no one may want to believe me because I
am not exactly an impartial observer, this is my
explanation of what occured in Mid-South D2. Rhodes A was
ranked 2nd and we (Tennessee) were ranked 5th because of
some-sub par play which led to losses in games we should
have won. However, we won both head to head games with
Rhodes A in the prelims without much problem. In the
swiss paired rounds we as the 5th ranked team were
scheduled to play the 10th ranked team, which turned out to
be a bye. Heading into the playoffs we had a 9-3
record including sweeps of Ga Tech and Rhodes, the top
ranked teams going into swiss paired. Rhodes was 9-4 and
had lost both games with us and thus we should have
headed into best two of three with a one game advantage.
We lost the first game to Rhodes A, but asked for
the second game against them that we were entitled to
according to the tournament rules.
