(1) Does everyone believe that 1 toss-up in 28 on visual arts (or perhaps what one would consider a similarly-rationed topic, such as music or mythology) is sufficient? I think it's a bit low, but perhaps I'm biased. I would say this is about right. There are categories in NAQT which you would not see in an ACF pack. (What is the ACF visual arts requirement for a 25/25 pack?) By Comparison, Penn Bowl asked for 1/2 or 2/1 for a 36/36 pack. You certainly can't do much more than 1/1 if you are going to try to include many categories and sub-categories in your round. (2) If 1 out of 28 is going to be the standard for these topics, should there not at least be a way to guarantee that the categories will appear in the first 20 toss-ups? At the SCTs, not all moderators have Ismailic or Dinanic speed/efficiency. As a moderator who regularly got to 20 (but no further) most rounds, I'd like to point out that the players also have some control over the pace of the round. In the D2 rounds I read, every team was taking five seconds on every part of every bonus. All that prompting really slowed me down. I think NAQT keeps its distribution private because it is a company, in competition with others who produce quiz tournaments. I haven't seen anyone criticize TRASH for not publishing its distribution.... -Bill
