Dorman's program was founded in 1982. Since then, it has been one of the most consistently great high school quizbowl teams in the country, having been a contender at the national level essentially every year since 1983. They run the Dorman Cavalier Academic Challenge every year.

History

Dorman is the perpetual defending champion of not one but two national tournaments, as both the ASCN TOC and the Stars 2000 had Dorman as the reigning winner when they dissolved. Notable "A" teams include their 2008 team, which consisted of Paolo Arce, Nick Clusserath, George Stevens, and Arsalaan Salehani. A team consisting of Todd Faulkenberry, Freddy DeAngelis, Kevin Lybrand, and Kleve Granger was a varsity-competitive "B" team in 2008 and placed second at the 2009 HSNCT as Dorman A that year.
