Due to some changes in our club's financial situation, we have decided to change the format of the tournament from Questions Unlimited to an in-house tournament using NAQT questions. Each game will be composed of three untimed rounds. The first round will be 10 NAQT tossups with no boni. The second round will be a 60 second round. The third round will be 10 NAQT tossups with boni. All tossups and 60 second questions will be worth 10 points, all bonuses, 30 points. There will be no penalty for buzzing in early with an incorrect answer; however, powering on tossups will still be possible. The team with the lowest score at the beginning of the 60 second round will one choose from a list of three 60 second categories. 60 second round questions may be passed and come back to later. The opposing team will have 30 seconds in which to answer any questions the previous team passed on or answered incorrectly. Questions which were never heard in their entirety may not be given over to the opposing team. In case of a tie, a coin flip will decide who picks first. It is undecided at this point whether the 60 second round questions will be in-house or ordered from a 3rd party. The third round will be conducted as a normal untimed NAQT round would be. There will be no bouncebacks for unanswered boni. The top 15% of teams will qualify for NAQTs national HS championship and the top 4 will qualify for PACE's National Scholastics Championship, which will be held on June 14-15 in Cleveland, Ohio, at Case Western Reserve University. All other information remains the same. Questions or comments, please e-mail saslett_at_... --Stephen Aslett
