I've only ever seen one tournament where that was done, at NAQT
Sectionals three years ago. And yes, it's a great idea. And no, it
wouldn't require 100% separate questions; many tossups are appropriate
for both as is, and it would be possible to take a hard bonus and
write a softer version of it for D II, and vice versa. But again,
this assumes (a) enough quality raw material and (b) getting it in
time. I may try something along those lines for the Moon Pie in
April; it'll be more feasible then because all these freshmen we saw
Saturday will have enough experience to write at least some usable
questions. But I doubt if there'll ever be a fall tournament that
gets enough good material to pull that off.
