Making it contagious...Well, I was told by Saurabh that he wanted the
full discount three days before the deadline. That was painful,
especially with two tests thrown into the mix for fun. But after
running that little gauntlet, I think I'm a better person for it.
I've been advocating this on all levels, the best way to study is to
write questions. Hands down. Also, as I believe I said in another
post, think to yourself as you write a packet "would I want to play
on this thing?" If the answer is no, a rewrite is in order.
I would venture to say that some of the problems with packet
submission is the expansion of the field. New teams, I hypothesize,
as physicists are prone to do, would tend to dislike the idea of
submitting a packet, especially if few or none of the team members
played in high school. I'm not saying I have a solution, I'm just
saying that may be part of it.
