Sheesh. Sorry to beat this into the ground a bit more, friends, but Mr. Mueller is sorely mistaken. > Also, judging from the ICT stats, I have a claim for best player > between the Mississippi River and the Rocky Mountains. > Regardless of the fact that Andrew McKenzie -- from Oklahoma -- is one of the better players we've ever had, and we beat you by almost 400 points at CBI Regionals. Just because you won a tourney with high school questions, it doesn't mean you're fantastic. And once we got our "A" team finalized (not until January), you couldn't beat us. See the Truman State Invitational for more on that end, as well (a great tourney, with some fantastic questions, BTW). Seems like many of the best players from this region didn't go to the ICT, anyway, so your comment is not only mistaken, but damned foolish. The big question is whether or not the "best player" award includes other things, such as how the player works with his teammates, and how they work tournaments. Here's my much-belated comments on Missouri's Sectional. Keyword: Non-organization. Everything was late, the prices were outrageous, there weren't enough decent moderators, especially in Div II, which is where I hung out for most of the day. According to all of my teammates and others I've discussed this with, Mr. Mueller was unwilling to answer questions, and behaved extremely rudely when bothered. No stats, period. If you're going after a National Qualifying tournament, or National Championship, make blasted sure you can run it properly. Jason's hubris actually frightens me, since he's obviously unaware of it. As for how he works with his teammates, I was standing outside the room when he actually said -- after we beat him at CBI -- "What do you expect with a bunch of buzzer rocks? (paraphrased, but very close)" I can assure you that what makes a great player isn't just how many points you score, and without any competition for buzzing in on your own squad, congrats, Jason, you're doing fine. I can't think of a player that's most despised in this region than you, Jason, and if we could possibly get away with not ever having you play at one of our tournaments again, we'd be more than happy, not because you "scare" us with your power, but because you're a big enough schmuck that you offend most people around you. As for Jason's remarks being sarcastic humor, sorry, you haven't met him, and the people who do know him can't stand him. Sorry for the elongation of this string, but it was needed. David Murphy
