"...the sectionals were chaotic, but I was not rude and I did answer questions to the best of my ability..." According to members of the OU, Iowa, Wash U., and Truman teams, you grunted answers to questions and ignored people, relying on your fellow tourney workers to answer questions such as, "When's lunch?" and "Why does it take 30 minutes to decide who's in the playoffs?" "... first, we had the lead on Okla A at the half in the Truman State title game;" And lost both games our A team played against you that day. Heck, I got three toss-ups against you while carrying around a baby. The Final was close at the half, but it sure didn't end up that way. "...CBI was just a bad tourney for us, as we even lost to Oklahoma Baptist (whom we beat 555-90 earlier in the year)..." Tom Dowdy OBU's coach)has never been happier. Chandra Dunbar (CBI Regional Director) said seven different people complained about you, and if more than one person playing had formally complained, you would have been asked to leave. I'll stake my personal reputation on the fact that you called your teammates buzzer rocks during the match at CBI, and trust that the moderators wouldn't lie about you yelling at them. Another quote from Jason at CBI Regionals: "You're the worst moderator I've ever had!" Obviously, you weren't paying too much attention at your own NAQT Sectionals. "...and if you look at the CBI stats, my teammates were buzzer rocks," What a schumuck! It doesn't matter whether or not you've played one game or twenty with people who are willing to play, you don't refer to them as buzzer rocks at any time, unless you're stupid (I'll pass there) or simply obnoxious (well, there's obvious for you). "Also, those buzzer rocks were not my regular teammates and were at their first intercollegiate tournament, as none of my regular teammates played in the campus tournament. I also encouraged my teammates by telling them that they would become better with time." So "buzzer rocks" is you simply being factual? Besidse witnessing you mocking teams at CBI you'd never played before (KSU was the one I remembered), this is your idea of "revving up the troops?" You called them buzzer rocks IN FRONT OF THEM! How idiotic can you be? Even when Dan Beshear and I are(were)at our worst, we don't (didn't) pull that stuff. How stupidly arrogant. "I may be an arrogant jackass (probably because I'm an only child from a farm with little personal interaction and a lot of self- confidence), but I am not a rude person." Someone point out to Mr. Mueller that being an arrogant jackass constitutes being rude. "Also, Dave, I doubt we at Mizzou will be coming to Route 66 because we're going to have a high school tournament that weekend (opening weekend in Missouri high school competition)." The gods have answered our prayers. BTW -- Route 66 is the same weekend as OU-Texas, as it has been every year. We've already set up a post earlier, before the flame war. "I may be the most hated person in quiz bowl, but I intend to keep on playing and establish a legitimate reputation." No one said you were a bad player, Jason, nor are you the most hated, according to some posts I've read, except betwen the Mississippi and the Rockies. Where the complaints come from are that you think you're one of the best quizbowlers in the nation, and that this idea gives you some sort of excuse to act like a chowderhead. My apologies again, folks. David Murphy
