Re: Tournament Endurance revisited....

matches, only perhaps a candy bar beforehand on Sunday's
matches, and even then beware that sugar highs fade away
pretty quickly.>>

Er. Perhaps I should
point out (just to show that all axioms are not true
100% of the time) that my team, on the way down to our
eventual Illinois state championship win, consumed about
half a big grocery bag of random assorted sweet stuff
(Twizzlers, Skittles, Oreos, et al) and somehow managed to
maintain our sugar high for two of the three matches we
played that day. (The third one-- the championship
match-- was against a team of much lower caliber than the
teams we faced in the quarters or the semis, so we
didn't really need it then.)Of course, most of the
members of the Stevenson team are wired so that they play
better on little or no sleep, so I can't attribute that
to any normal physiological response. You may want
to listen to Michael if you are in any way less
weird than we are.
Also, don't let senioritis get in
the way of quiz-bowling. You want to save that for
schoolwork. ;)
