3. Kelly's editing and questions were fantastic. Wow. I have hardly ever seen well-done, pyramidal easy questions. These were. I don't remember a single hose. The fact that people can only come up with typos and pronunciation guides to criticize evinces this near-perfection. Oh, yeah, sure, I could come up with two slight quibbles--The Bald Soprano tossup had the giveaway in the first line--about 5 people buzzed on that one in my room and the pantheism bonus had the definition for "immanence" a doctrine with pantheism as its answer for "pantheism." That's it as far as I can tell. I have more problems than that with the average single round at many other tournaments. Great job Kelly. For those who want self-esteem certificates and the like for playing ACF, you get to play on by far the best questions in the world--that should be sufficient. 4. I've always found it ironic that the same people who complain about ACF being too hard also cry about their not being enough diversity in QB. Well play some ACF then. Accept for NAQT nationals, you're not going to get Hawaiian history except for maybe Queen Lil in any other format. Because of the trash, current events and general knowledge sections of its distribution, NAQT by its very nature is mainly Americana and 20th century, only in ACF are you going to get substantial history, lit and art from other parts of the world. (I know, I know, NAQT asks those questions--but it's limited by the distribution to a small segment of the packets). However, by definition, diversity makes the packets harder. And you'll still get your butt kicked. If you're in the game to socialize (which I know many if not most QB'ers are), then you shouldn't care how you do. If you're in to learn, then learn.
